I read a bit of the contract... "Best effort" was mentioned multiple times... Why is the EU commission trying to say otherwise?
31
Of course it's going to be a no deal Brexit. This is because the EU refuses to cede control of Britain to the British. The EU still want to rule over us. It's not happening. We voted to leave and leave we will. A FTA would have been nice. It's nice to have friendly relationships with other Countries. But I get it...... The EU is hurt we're leaving, it wants to remain in control of various aspects of the UK economy, but all the EU are doing is creating a massive problem for themselves here in Britain... The EU has become an unfriendly actor for the UK and in future, we will treat the EU as such.
23
More EU spin... Funny how these Eurocrats bleat on about the "EUs Internal Market" but issue threats to break up the UKs Internal Market and when we move to stop that happening, all you see from these idjuts is a demonstration in dummy spitting.. If it wasn't so sad to witness, I'd be creased up laughing my head off.
13
Do you want some fish and chips to go with that salt?
13
The EU should take AstraZeneca to Court if they are unhappy with the outcome of the deal... They'll soon find that "Reasonable Best Efforts" in any contracts, just means "I'll try" Companies aren't obliged to lose money with this in the contract. They'll find in any Court, even with the biased, partisan ECJ that they don't have a leg to stand on. Perhaps if the EU wanted a more efficient supply line, they should have put more money in to the AstraZeneca supply lines and production facilities like the UK did and they wouldn't be having this problem now. Instead the EU threw money at failed German and French companies that haven't even produced a vaccine. But no, the EU wanted it as cheap as possible and spent an extra 3 months driving a hard bargain... So short sighted of them.. The EU failed very badly on this.
11
My guess is he's been watching Von De leyen in action and come to the conclusion that the dozy cow needs a good slap.
8
@luxessence1095 Come join us mate. I've had a massive feel good factor for months now.. It's like a weight being lifted off your shoulders. QUITALY !!!!!
8
Seeing as Von De Leyen is in the business of quoting Thatcher.. I'd like to point out that Thatcher was quite clear that the EU was doomed to failure and it's downfall was inevitable.
7
@0muskett0 Not whilst being a member of the EU we didn't.. Why else do you think the EU still wants to control our fishing waters... Control our working practises (level playing field) and have the ECJ control/decide our laws and disputes.. Do you seriously think that we controlled these things before and all of a sudden the EU wants to take charge of this stuff now we're leaving...? C'mon Chris, it ain't rocket science, you just need to use a little bit of brain power to work it out.
6
WOW we approved this weeks ago. How many lives as EU incompetence cost?
6
Has the big baby calmed down now the EU has got it's dummy back?
5
If the EU was a Democracy, Von De Lyon would have been voted out of office yesterday... Unlucky for them, the EU has given up on Democracy and they're stuck with the useless prat.
5
So International Contract Law is no longer binding, all because the EU are useless, were slow, late and made bad contracts so because some of these vaccines are made in EU territory, the International Legal System no longer counts.... Don't expect Countries or Companies to honour any contracts with you EU. You're more shifty than a Ten Bob note.
4
She said that the EU would have fragmented if Countries had have sought their own vaccines... WOW. She put EU unity above the lives of the people of Europe. Sacked? She should be put in jail.
4
EU officials back the NI Protocol even though it breaks the GFA and the Act of Union 1707. There is only one solution here on the UK side. Amend the NI protocol or scrap it. There is a solution should the EU choose to engage. That is, and traffic between NI and UK only, and not using NI as a transit area needs to be free of checks and paperwork
4
Yes, take your time to go through the contract... Count how many times it says AZ will give it's "Best Effort" to meet it's delivery schedule.. That "Best Effort" could have been helped with financing from the EU to increase it's capacity at it's Plants in the EU... Shame the EU didn't do that, unlike the UK who put extra money in to the company to do just that here in the UK..
4
@FabsPlay Will you be voting for Von De Lyon in the next election, or will you be voting to replace her? Ooooops... Nearly forgot... The EU isn't a Democracy.. You can't vote her out. Europe has already fallen.
4
@vullings1968 So you openly admit to wanting to break up the UK? Thanks for making that clear and also making it clear that the EU weren't acting in good faith... Breaking the WA and breaking the Belfast Agreement. The US isn't on the EU's side in this argument. Only the Democrats are and they aren't in power. The Democrats are a load of far left fuckwits that want to see Western Civilisation fall.... You should check the recent press conference of Mike Pompeo. Trump aside, he's the most important person in the US right now.
3
@-JB-cod And now they're spitting out their dummies because we've stopped them in their tracks. Those sneaky underhand EU twats.
3
Erx British -Turkey relations are very good. Turkey has acted as a buffer zone for Europe against the extremities of some of those Middle Eastern States. We in Britain recognise that. These Europhiles are power tripping. Fuck 'em.
3
@NickStrife Libya, Syria and Greece are all messes created by the EU. There Cyprus issue has been long standing, the EU has done nothing to rectify it.. It's not about "Euroscepticism" it's about truth. Your Europhilia has blinded you to the damage the EU has been doing on it's borders. Wake the fuck up.
3
@NickStrife Why what crime has Erdogan committed? He helped sort out Isis in Syria, whilst EU leaders wanted to help them out in the early days... Erdogan is in Libya helping to sort out that EU mess, used as a jumping point for mass migration in to Europe, a mess created by the EU when they decided they wanted Gadaffi out. Get your head out of the EU's arse, stop buying their fake propaganda and open your eyes. You come across as a complete idiot.
3
@NickStrife Libya has been in a state of civil war ever since the EU decided to bomb Gadaffi out of power. Syria is a mess created by the EU when they started backing Isis in order to remove Ashad. The EU wanted to lend ISIS military AID at one time FFS. Turkey was the one stable factor in all that. Even taking in refugees. Turkey is drilling for Oil off the Coast of Cyprus. Cyprus is split in to two, one part being Greek and the other Turkish. They're drilling off the Turkish part. Which is their right under International Law. If you have a problem with Turkey allowing migrants pass out of it's birders, then I suggest you have a word with France for allowing illegals to buy Dinghys and illegally come to Britain. Unless of course you're a total hypocrite?? Your "facts" aren't facts, they're EU propaganda pushed on the MSM to dupe muppets like yourself. More fool you for believing them.
3
Nobody in the EU is capable of reform. They're stuck in their ideology. All they know is more of the same.
3
I can see Russia turning off the taps of the Nord Stream pipeline.. Or they will in future. It won't be long now before the Russians have the EU by the balls. I can't wait to see them put on the squeeze so I can watch as the EU squeals.
3
The only cost to the EU is relinquishing control.....
3
@thr04w4y What debt do we owe you? lol.. Talk sense pal. We import more from you than we export. Our currency is getting devalued. We ain't going to buy from the EU anymore. We will buy British or source cheaper from further afield at a cheaper rate (as we're outside the EU's external tariff). Our economy is about to get a real shot in the arm as British produce becomes cheaper. Yours has just lost 1.2 million jobs. I say 1.2 million jobs, that's a IMF prediction..
3
Nothing on the Pfizer shortfall? Perhaps if the EU had pulled their finger out earlier then the supply lines would be in place by now.
3
@dge5348 What International treaties as the UK broken? If the EU bans the export of vaccines then it's in violation of both the UN and WTO. Right now, the EU is acting like North Korea.
3
17 million doses delivered and 40 cases of blood clotting. Similar figures to the Pfizer jab, but nothing gets said about Pfizer. They're also moaning about delivery shortfalls. Well, if they want more jabs then put some more money in to help with that production schedule. And if they don't want it then why ban it's export? The EU are making a right old mess about this. They have an aggressive attitude to anything British, and it's costing them lives. They haven't got over Brexit, they need to grow up.
2
@-JB-cod I can't help laugh at this myth the EU puts out about the Withdrawal Agreement putting a border in the Irish Sea, like it's somewhere off the Coast of the Isle of Man or something... lol... The Border is in the Ports on NI and the EU's threat to starve NI by banning UK food produce entering NI, does break the Good Friday Agreement and gives us the right, under International Law to scrap the Withdrawal Agreement, because they would have already broke the Good Friday Agreement. By introducing the UK Internal Market Bill, the UK has done the EU a massive favour.
2
@3s0t3r1c No they're not, they didn't get a choice. The majority of people in NI want to remain in the Union. That is, the UK union. That's why Unionist Parties hold the majority in Stormont. C'mon kid, stop listening to EU lies and open your eyes to the actual facts that are out there.
2
The EU are just stupid. They've banned Shellfish from the UK, yet Shellfish foods have a high Vitamin D content in them, which helps fight Covid... I've come to the conclusion that the EU wants to purposely harm it's own people.
2
AstraZeneca has delivered 17 million dozes to the EU and the EU have reported 40 cases of bruising. It's hardly unsafe. The EU are ridiculous. The EU are still moaning about delivery shortfalls. Instead of the EU constantly attacking the AstraZeneca jab, why not work with them and put some more money in to up production, or just allow them to export the jab if they don't want it. The EU are playing politics with peoples lives. They're idiots
2
And the UK supplied funding to AstraZeneca back in May last year to get the supply lines up and running as quick as possible. The EU were months behind. They're useless.
2
@rugbychampion1 Yeah, release the contract. The thing is. The UK is ahead of the curve and will get vaccinated quicker (the EU hasn't even approved this vaccine yet). When that's done there will be ample supplies that can hit the EU, giving the EU an overload of supplies to add to AstraZenecas EU operations.. If the EU is not careful, those extra supplies coming from the UK will go elsewhere. The EU were one of the last ones to buy in to this British jab, there's many other Countries that bought it long before the EU even sniffed their noses at this vaccine. It must cut them to the quick to have to buy vaccines from us, this "tiny little Island" that they're now so reliant on. I see France has now given up even trying to make a jab lol... Just fucking useless.
2
We need to ban the EU fleet from fishing in our waters. This pulse fishing is a disgrace. And in no way are EU fleets entitled to our natural resources. To think that they are is an abuse of their own sense of entitlement.
2
@NickStrife It's not illegal to sell a fellow NATO ally weapons... It is illegal for the EU to fish in our waters without our permission. In fact, they call that Piracy. We'll see who the criminals are.
2
@NickStrife I don't see Turkey attacking any of it's NATO Allies. The only side ramping things up are the EU.. They on an ego trip and it's very dangerous.
2
@NickStrife I'm not reading reams and reams of comments. So I'll pass on your second two. But I do see how desperate you are. Desperate people are usually in that place because of their own short comings. Have a long hard look at yourself kid.
2
@NickStrife "Western Culture" is the enemy of our ruling elites by the looks of things..
2
Clannie 184 If Turkey produces good weapons then yes, we'll buy them. What's your problem?
2
@Diarmaid O'Riordan More Europe more Europe more Europe..... You know the drill... Unless of course, those few braincells you have aren't firing.... Because I don't call that reform.
2
@kaba_me Yes, we actually do elect our Police Commissioners here in the UK. But C'mon, Police Commissioners are way down the scale compared to the leader of the EU, which puts out it's own Diplomats, Diplomats that the EU believe should have Diplomatic Immunity.
2
@vullings1968 Brexiteers cheered it because the remainers were blocking Brexit and getting this through allowed Brexit to move on to the next stage. Gove and Cummings even said, if down the line we don't like the deal, we'll just scrap it. :) FU EU
2
The MEPs just don't get it... Von De Leyen said back in December that "This was the EUs moment" Ha ha ha ha haaaaaaa ha ha ha... What? To show how pathetic and useless it is.
2
Robbing Peter to pay Paul as the old English saying goes....
2
Our covid rates have fallen by 80% from this time 2 weeks ago. We'll be coming out of the Pandemic first. Secondly. We haven't been ramping up border checks, unlike the EU who have been out and out Gestapo like at the border. This will happen in 6 months time. After we've lined up the other trade deals and reached in to those markets. So that's another whammy for the EU to come down the line. These figures are more propaganda by the EU in order to make Brexit look like a mistake and the EU to be the greatest thing ever. It's low quality propaganda at best, I can't believe the people of Europe still buy this crap.
2
The Tories will be toast. Boris has missed a great opportunity to boost Britain. I just watched the BBC moaning about our motor industry and farming... Me and the Missus were laughing our heads off. The EU sells us 2.3 million Cars a year. A no deal scenario allows us to put quotas on those Cars. Put a 300,000 quota on EU Cars coming in to the UK and just you watch other manufacturers move here and bring their supply chains to Britain. This would power us out of this Covid mess. We import more food than we make. Our farmers would have a field day post Brexit as EU agri-goods become too expensive, allowing them to expand and yes, we can introduce more Sea Food in to our diet. The Tories, if they've betrayed us and sold us out. Will be hammered for decades to come in the GEs of the future.
2
@gdwnet You actually still think the EU is just a trade block? Get real Gary.
