Wow, at the age of 53 I lost my wife to cancer, I and we were on top of the world financially, our children were grown and gone, out of state, I was alone, I felt I have more to give, so I adopted 5 children, yes 5, they are all from the same family, in the system and about to be separated, I took them, it’s been rough, here we are 10 years later, life is great. It’s wonderful to give my life to children who needed it….bless everyone

  3. For those of you who discount Warren Buffett, I was there 20 years ago in 1999 and 2000 and everybody thought Warren Buffett was full of shit. The same speculative frenzy that's going on today was going on back then. Buffett was against it at the time. When the tech bubble burst in 2000 Buffett was proven correct. I wouldn't be too quick to discount Warren Buffett. He only has a lifetime of investing experience and is only the best investor on the planet.

  5. These guys are value investors, not innovators. It's hard for them to invest in companies who innovate. The price is based solely on it's predicted growth, not it's value based on earnings. It's risky to invest in these stocks. You may hit a homerun or you may lose everything. They don't invest that way.

  6. What they didn't mention: Being rich gives you security, healthcare, and the freedom to work less and do more (be it travel, hobbies, culture, parenting, or anything else). It also allows you to provide all of that for the next generation. And on top of that it gives you power and influence over the people around you and the society you live in.

  27. Loving business is probably the reason most people start a business. I don't know if it's true regarding people who simply choose to get hired or buy a business. I started my business in 1979. A LOT of people helped me. My experience was that most people LIKE to help people. There is a huge spirit of cooperation among business people; customers, suppliers, competitors, employees, and owners. I'm now retired but I miss the daily contact.

  33. The largest mistake a company makes is not having a concern if the person they employ actually enjoys what they do. Before that individual is hired, that must be the #1 reason they are applying, not because of money. Sadly, most companies do not invest in their employees well enough and that's when morale suffers and businesses fail. Is Warren hiring? I can relate to that mentality. :)
