  2. It makes sense. We've never had a black president. Obama is just as much white as he is black. Had Ben Carson or someone like him (two black parents), he would have been the first black president. In a sense, simply identifying as black not only arbitrarily denies his white heritage, it undercuts Black people's heritage, undercuts his multiethnic heritage, and reinforces the racist one-drop rule that was used to keep multiethnic people out of white society. Now, this can get into a gray area (no pun intended) when it comes to multiethnics reproducing with ethnically homogenous people, especially when he/she is one of the other's own ethnicities, but this simply nullifies the absurdities about race, anyway, as we're all human.
