  3.  @malcolm_in_the_middle  Neither parent should have unilateral final say on what happens to the child. If one parent officially states they want nothing to do with the child, only then does the other parent get unilateral decision making power on the existence of the child. Notice the pro choice pro-murder crowd never even remotely cares what the father wants. Ever heard the desperate wailing a father begging the mother not to kill his child? Boils the blood to hear anyone beg for the life of their child like that knowing they have no power to do anything.
