  1. We wouldn't be paying so much in taxes if there weren't so many pork projects. I heard it estimated once (well over a decade ago) that somewhere between 2 and 20 billion goes to pork projects alone, and that that was a low-ball estimate. Assuming it's even 2bil, that's probably 5-15% less taxes we would need to be paying right there. I admit, I don't know enough to make an accurate guesstimation, but I know we could, and should, be paying less.
