I would say either EU is arrogant or suffering delusions of grandeur because you have the US, Russia, China and Japan these have a better record than ESA if he keeps dreaming one day they may get there but not today.

@Gfdsa40 my brother was at one point head of ESA and your arrogance even insinuating that the EU is ahead of the US or Russia is astounding the UK is the lead in satellite technology so we are not there yet maybe never will be.

@Gfdsa40 yes Japan, China landed on meteors, moon, Mars and Japan has 2 ongoing missions to Europa and Ganymede and there are probably many more arrogance has no place in science, science is the expansion of knowledge not oneupmanship.

@Gfdsa40 you still miss the point these countries are heading out of the inner solar system there technology is more advanced than the EU and they have more money something the EU is in short supply of the UK and Japan are making deals in this area with the revolutionary rocket designed in the UK which is smaller more economical and upto 5 times more powerful than any rocket of it's size and it can also be scaled up and the EU is still having fits that the UK is going to have it's own space agency in the terms of rockets ESA had already made an offer and it was refused.

@Gfdsa40 not with the deal with Japan the UK will still be part of on going missions prior to leaving the EU hence why the UK is setting it's own launch capabilities this is facts from the UK government the UK is also putting it's own navigation and intelligence satellites in orbit as the UK has only limited access to the EU's.

@Gfdsa40 the s only part of projects prior to 31st December 2020 and the deal with Japan is to scale up the rocket I know this because of my brother who headed ESA a while back is involved with the Japanese space agency.
