  1. They have not only taxes but also fees that add up for every gallon in California. The actual gas tax is only $0.60/gal, but with all the extra fees and federal tax added on, there's an extra dollar added on top of that. Like everything in a socialist area, they can't help but tax people 50 different ways. It's only by some miracle that the oil industry is still competitive with the Democrat government trying to destroy them.
