Jill may not be making memories the same way an obsessive person does, but that doesn't mean similar advice wouldn't work to help her. I inherited OCD from my father and I had a chronic depression when I was younger. I couldn't stop thinking about the things that were bothering me. I had to force myself to stop using the same thought patterns. Stop thinking about certain people and events. Stop listening to music that made me remember. Over time it helped my mood dramatically and I think a similar approach could possibly benefit Jill.
