Yes, it is absolutely a red flag if someone has never been in a serious committed relationship and never had kids in their 40s. I think that woman was a bit hung up on the marriage angle. There are quite a lot of people who are together for a long time and never get married and I don't consider it a red flag on that issue because the system is so broken.
