Buying a new car is the biggest trap that most people do when they get a decent job. If you find a good used car for a good price and keep up the maintenance, that car will keep you going for damn near forever with no payments at about 1/3rd the cost over time. If you get over the addiction to have the latest and greatest you can seriously upgrade your life.

@Thatbeardedguy86 You can still do it but you're not going to get 80s/90s prices because used cars these days are far more advanced and can last much longer. You also will need to shop around for a long time before you find the car you're happy with and save up far more in advance. The reason why used cars are going up in price so much is because people realize they are a good value compared to new cars. It's the supply vs demand issue.
