  1. They are asserting that any gym is a health hazard without any actual evidence. It seems logical that if everyone is touching the machines, breathing heavily, and sweating all over would increase the spread of viruses. The problem is that they can take steps to reduce the spread. They can take temperatures at the door. They can add ventilation. They can pay someone to go around wiping down the machines between use. There's also the tradeoff of having people who aren't healthy because they didn't go to the gym and thus develop vulnerabilities to viruses. Just based on the science, it is irrational to completely force a gym out of business over a virus.
