Just shrug and say you can't understand the language and move on rather than getting bent out of shape hearing English. This is infant like behaviour, getting triggered just by hearing someone speak English

  2. 10:47 there is something wrong with that. It's the opposite of being nice/welcoming. Passionate is just a sugarcoated word for eagerly offended. They want to be offended when the reasonable thing to say to an English speaker is just "Sorry I don't know English" in French and move on
