  1. You hit the nail on the head. Sometimes a weirdo could survive if they "owned it" otherwise yeah, you didn't want to be that guy. Just like you didn't want to be Gomer Pyle in that movie. You just wanted to be like everybody else. Which is exactly what these zoomers or whatevertheheck are. Even if they have half their head shaved and the other side dyed pink there are a million kids just like that.   8. It's still the same now, but reading the newspapers back-in-the-day, whenever a Republican pol got caught with his pants down they would shout it from the roof tops. If a Democrat pol was caught with his pants down they WOULD NEVER REVEAL HIS PARTY AFFILIATION. Oh, they would publish the story, but the censorship by omission always stuck in my craw. I didn't even have a name for it then. And my Dad, of course, pointed me on the right path.   12. Years ago I saw Lost Horizon in theater. It was an event. Everyone clapped at the end. Kind of funny to think about how things were before everything became so fractured. Just an ordinary Saturday in a movie theater and people actually came together for a brief moment.
