  1. She's not asking for advice, she's wanting you to sit and LISTEN to her ramble on and on about her problem, she does NOT want you to fix her problem. Unfortunately guys are biologically wired to solve problems, so that's what we try to do, and she just see's that as you saying she's incompetent and incapable. When she comes to you with a problem, simply ask her straight out, do you want me to LISTEN or FIX IT? If it's listen, tell her to go talk to one of her girlfriends it's their job to provide the "emotional support" she's looking for, if she wants it fixed come talk to you, that's your job.
