  2. It wouldn't wipe out humanity. It wouldn't even wipe out countries targeted by nukes. The thing is that it will just damage infrastructure. Basically all young working age people would just hide in underground stations. The subsequent usage of tactical nukes during land war would be much more lethal, but mainly for the losing side
