Little did the authors of the video and commentators know that romantic love is also a concept of modernity and not a tradition lol

Few things to mention: 0)the decline in average birth rates is not that bad until it goes below 2.1 children per woman. We don't want overpopulation here. It's more of a problem of certain ethnic groups going to extinction. 1)there are countries with stable or increasing birth rates above replacement level — particularly Israel and central Asian countries, especially Kazakhstan. 2)there are communities with insanely high birth rates — particularly orthodox Jews, Mormons and Amish. Their birth rates don't seem to decline. 3)I think there's no going back to nuclear monogamous family structure just because of how ineffective it is. If most people form monogamous families, average family will have 2 or 3 kids. That means cost per kid is insanely high. What I think will happen is that some of rich people will start to have harems, with women giving birth to copious amount of kids. This way a)woman can't just leave and take kids because there are other women in harem and kids will remain with man in family; b)cost per kid decreases drastically. If you have 1 kid instead of none you need 3-room apartment instead of 2-room one. If you have 2 kids you need 4-room apartment. If 3 kids you need either 4 or 5-room one. However if you have harem of 10 wives and 14 kids with each you need only house for youself, dorm for wives and two barracks: for boys and girls(also something for toddlers). The absolute cost is high, but cost per kid is insanely low. It's like having assembly line instead making cars in your garage. Not saying that it will be the only family formation, but I believe we will see a lot of such families(and I'll try to have such one too)

@tayh.6235 But it's about erotic/sexual love rather than romantic. And erotic/sexual love existed from the beginning of mankind

It helps to watch those movies like a comedies or not associate yourself with characters in them.

Of course you had to include the "are you aware of your flaws?" to give yourself option of saying "you just aren't aware of them" if someone answers other questions positively P.S. also the values thing, lol

@ChickFenwick "correlation doesn't mean causation" is not a spell. You need to actually think about options that cause it

@tayh.6235 romantic love is more lofty

@roan2288 troubadour stories were about chivalry and courtly love, the latter taking quite strange forms, like man performing series of heroic tasks to prove his love to a married woman, without getting her at the end. It also never involved anyone outside of nobility. But the most important fact is that it was mostly fiction stories to entertain nobles, and even if they engaged in such relationships, those were mostly a roleplaying game for them.
