  1. ​ @TheOtherBradBird well, considering the right to repair no politician(except maybe for Trump and few others who fund themselves) wants to mess with that, think from their perspective, they advocate for it and it means probably no funding from car manufacturers/dealerships services. Independent car fixing firms could counterweight it, but they are too small exactly because right to repair is not protected.

  3.  @bigbadaardwolf  well, if US will prohibit that then it will lead to one of two things: 1)bribery to achieve the same goal; and if bribing will be prosecuted then 2)many companies will leave US. The problem is that universal suffrage is equal and, therefore, unfair. And it needs to be fixed in one way or the other, or interests of rich people are not being taken into account enough.

  6. 1)Dislike for mocking people who you disagree with. 2)The problem with "companies should be forced to opensource products after they go bankrupt/stop maintaining the product" is that they will just engineer it the way it can't be really made opensoursed. The problem is that people actually like bying subscribtion-based services and proprierary stuff. And they will suffer because of it
