There can be another thing at play. Pretty sure more developed countries allowed women in STEM earlier, and it lead to them breeding themselves out of existence(because people with less education had more kids for entire 20th century and this is most likely still the case)

@gudetamaminiso513 not really intertwined but conditioned, environment can't influence genes themselves, just the selection of who will leave offspring and who will not.

Well, the leftists can't allow that. Because if it is so, then their idea that unequal outcome inherently means inequality of opportunities would fail, and they would have to advocate for equalizing the outcome, which is much harder to do for them
