  1. There's one(two actually) little problem with his argument about impossibility of tradition. Both things that are "new" are actually invalid as a game changer. Let me explain how. 1)Abortion and birth control. The thing is that it was ALWAYS possible to get rid of unwanted children. Some may say that now woman can sleep around before marriage without repercussions, but the the problem is that in traditional societies she never had a chance. Men never waited for a girl to turn 18(or whatever arbitrary age you choose), they took them young, right after menarche. So when modernist laws(woman gets kids and high age of consent) are struck down, the problem dissolves. 2)Work and independence. In traditional societies women always could work, if they wanted, but usually they became housewives. Most formal prohibitions of women working are actually relatively modern. There even were free women too — basically hetairai/prostitutes(with former kinda being similar to OF girls). So this part also doesn't prohibit traditional society, and actually is a vital part of it(as it prevents incentive among rebellious women to fight for universal women's rights)
