I think second position can be defensible if they meant "you should treat fictional people and real characters the same", i.e. saying "I only like/am sympathetic to this character because he's fictional" is weird. I would even agree with such statement myself

I guess this is consequence of western chritistian culture in which lustful thoughts are sinful. Normally such idea is repressed, but in case of sa victims it is not

@aardwolf6668 I disagree. In his world he still unalived people and if he was in our world he would do the same. This "this is fiction" has strong psychopatic vibes. More than that, what if you don't know if something is fiction or not. For example what if there's alternative reality where such character exists or you watch a slasher movie but later it turns out that it's a video from real life?
