  1. Obviously yes(ideally), woefully lawmakers make it much more difficult to drive decent speeds on the roads, despite a lot of those roads actually being suited for 200mph+

  2.  @istvanlorinczi2817  well, it's not really my problem. Idiots can crash into the nearest tree/car even if they drive 60mph in the best handling car, doesn't justify forcing everyone to use autopilot or lowering max speed to 30mph.

  3.  @BladedAngel  the video you linked is about urban sprawl in US, not about how roads are being damaged by fast driving cars. More than that, I'm pretty sure huge trucks damage roads much much more than light car going fast, just because how much heavier they are(and btw if road is damaged in certain place, light cars will slow down to not get damaged, while truck will just go its full speed because truck won't get damaged by it)

  4. This is both sad and infuriating. It's ok if normal cars got slower(like jet airliners got), customers buy them not because of speed, same goes for some jets(like f-35 which doesn't need to be fast, because it's anti-aa and land attacker, not suited for air combat at all). But sport cars, same as private jets(they got faster and will probably soon go supersonic due to new technologies), same as air superiority jets(F-15 is mach 2.5, F-22 is mach 2.5, NGAD will reportedly be mach 2.8) should either remain the same or get faster, them becoming slower is a spit to the face of the sport cars enthusiasts. Saying that "muh, we didn't want them to be fast in the first place" is an absolutely idiotic coping, and lap times are irrelevant, sport cars are being bought to speed on highways, not race on the track

  7.  @wicho5062  it seems that it's you who did not watch the video. It is exactly about sprawl, because US-style suburbs require a lot of roads, much more than tightly packed cities. Of course, roads will always need maintenance, but it's much lower per capita in case of big cities
