  1. There's important lesson in here, and one a lot of people seem to overlook. The more "good"(actually the more 'virtuous'(in a specific sanctimonious christian/american way)) you try to be, the harsher standards will apply to you. If he did not rejected her(wouldn't be surprised ifit turned out that he rejected her not just because she lied, but also because she's "tоо уоung" for him), or if he did it because of some other reason later(like finding another girl), no one would care. That's another reason why it is disadvantageous to try to play along with this pietist bs
