EV's are definitely LESS environmentally friendly that ICE cars because 1)their batteries require a lot of minerals and contain heavy metals, which contaminate the environment when batteries are scrapped(and those heavy metals don't have half life time, they stay in biosphere forever); 2)Almost all energy that is required for EVs comes from either coal, oil or natural gas. There's no chance renewables could power anything, as solar batteries are essentially what they are called — batteries since their EROI is only 5(at least one order below other means of producing energy), and wind turbines work only when there is a wind(and if installed on land, they slower and disturb the air currents, which dries land behind them). Also should be noted that all CO2 that comes from ICE cars will eventually be deposited in the biomass, increasing food supply for both humans and animals. The future(a distant one) of cars will probably be nuclear/thermonuclear reactors for producing energy and ICE engines working on hydrogen or ethanol.

@reardelt the problem is you can't. There is however a lot of fossils and nuclear fuels

@JustWasted3HoursHere actually closer to 100 miles, and only if the volume of fuel carried stays the same(it can be increased as liquid hydrogen is light)

So basically instead of going woke or playing risky, like Tesla, they try to maximize profits by offering many options to customers. I like Toyota
