@davidp1773 Europe has no reason to ally russia, but it may ally china, at least economically. Without Europe US will have to face china mostly alone, which will be hard, especially with europe trading with them

@turrowongkaren6768 well, it protects europe from invasion, and greatly harmed european main enemy. So if anything they should be in NATO rather than US

@facelesscalvin1667 while I agree that european countries have to remilitarize even more than they already did, but cutting intelligence to Ukraine that currently protects europe, and saying that US won't protect even the eastern europe that spends above 2% undermined all the credibility of US position

@Antares-rt5ub but most countries met 2% goal in 2024, and even in 2023 all russian neighbours met the 2% goal

@gerritvalkering1068 I think US can't do anything if europe decides to produce F-35s themselves and can theoretically do it, America really doesn't have much cards despite their rhetorics. The harder you push people, the harsher they react, and europe only has russia as an opponent which they dwarf both economically and by population. Honestly I think Trump is in delusion, and it will likely cause US facing china without european help. Ironically, he may end up helping Europe and Canada at expense of US population
