I believe age of consent should be 12, but if you respect your country( and US definitely deserves respect because of its relatively fair judiciary system and the second amendment), then you shouldn't break laws, at least if your life is not in danger(which is not the case here). It's better to be forever alone, but free and with a gun and a right to protect yourself than do something stupid out of love/infatuation.
