  7. Modern MBT's are large medium tanks(something similar to Panther, not King Tiger). They are quite mobile and have decent, but not outstanding armor. MBTs can only be succsessfully used in 3 terrains: desert, plains(meadows, steppe) and forests(if roads are small and not straight). Everyone who tries to use them offencively in urban, mountain or marsh/mud(rasputitsa) terrain is either extremely stupid or acts with malicious intent. They also should be used in fast attacks, for piercing enemy defence lines and encircling opponent's forces. The way Russia used them was doomed right from the start.
