You have a point. Poor Trump. No, I'm not sorry for him, I'm describing him.

@Polynuttery Denmark is not "holding"... Greenland is an independent country. They let a number of matters be decided in Copenhagen. They are free to go back and decide on such matters if they want, just as they are free to leave the kingdom if they want. And Anders explained it quite well in the video you just watched.

@Jakob_DK ...where the "whisky war" was fought. Every time servicemen from one country landed to hoist their flag, they left a bottle of booze to enjoy for the servicemen of their adversary next time they landed on the island. Now that's a sober way to fight a war. Wait... Did I say "sober"?

@jonson856 We in Denmark welcome more trade. We can start trading booze. Now the issue with Hans Island is solved to satisfaction of everyone, we need some other means of exchanging booze. I already invite every Canadian I meet one a drink, and will do so for the rest of my life. You see, in 1945 a few brave Canadians saved my country from Stalin. If it wasn't for them, I would speak ruzzian instead of Danish today. In the last days of WWII a small Canadian unit raced through the German lines, all the way across Germany to take the German Baltic Sea port city of Wismar before the Soviets did. The Soviets could (most probably would) have raced on up into Jutland and occupied Denmark. The Canadians got to Wismar first and held off 3 Soviet divisions, almost getting into battle and risking a new war. But the Canadian were determined to stay and hold Wismar. That gave British Montgomery enough time to be first to race up into Jutland and liberate Denmark. Even now 80 years later, as a Dane I am grateful to all Canadians.

@eddale5557 It wouldn't surprise me. In his first four years as president he spent almost an entire year playing golf.

Exactly what Anders pointed out: Rare minerals. That's what he's after. And it wouldn't be the Greenlanders that would benefit from Trump taking it.

Trump in Washington and bunker grandpa in Moscow, it's the same rethoric. Yes, I very much agree with all you say.

Svalbard for California (used to be the World's 8th largest economy that state alone, just below Brazil). Trump, take it or leave it.

@jonlittle5032 I agree with Arturo Bianco here. I think this video is for the American audience, and that, sadly, it's necessary.

@Joakim-j7h What Trump is ranting about is buying Greenland, or taking it by force. Not about any Greenlanders deciding upon anything, only about Trump himself deciding.

@jonlittle5032 I agree that this story shouldn't be given air in the first place. But when all major media each has several videos or articles on it every day, then is the time for experts and analysts with real opinions to give their inputs. Various people come with their reactions now that the story already is blown up, and then I think it does need to be discussed. I would have preferred if noone had taken any notice. But these days Trump is very much in focus, and people will take notice of every fart that comes from him, whether it comes out through his mouth or elsewhere.

@Joakim-j7h That's just plain wrong. Canada has a GDP of about $2.2bio and Tennessee a GRDP of only about $418mio. Canada has a GDP per capita of about $54,000 while Tennessee's GRDP per capita is only about $31,000.

The other day you were a Frenchman. How many nationalities do you have?
1
@Joakim-j7h Wrong. I have never had Trump for president. I'm not from USA. We don't even have presidents here.
1
@Joakim-j7h Why doesn't your account have any information whatsoever? It could be nothing but software and a simcard.

@migsvensurfing6310 And spends a lot of time playing golf. When does he find time to play president?
1
@annewalden3795 Yes, it's not my impression that he spent much time reading. But then why did he keep so many government papers, even top secret ones, in his home even after he left precidency? That's either dumb or dangerous, or both. Not a person I would want for president again.
