@theglobalgambit One option is to just let him talk and get on with our own lives, trying to be a country that behaves with decency to others. Then hopefully we're not alone if he gets stupid ideas. But the last years we've seen other countries be alone, or almost, against much larger partners. The world seems to have turned into a game of "might is right". We are in a powerful alliance (that even without USA), not all countries are that lucky.

@ Thanks for that, I'll look into those drones. No, it's to demonstrate sovereignty. "We actually operate here in this uninhabited area, therefore the land is not completely vacant and not for anyone else to take." I doubt that snow mobiles could do the job any cheaper than dog sled patrols. And you mention the fuel. 16,000 km or even part of it is a long journey, especially if one is about to run out of fuel and for whatever reasaon has to bypass the next depot. A dog sled patrol about to run out of fuel (food) can catch selas, or a whale, or both (a seal used as bait to catch the whale).

@ParameterGrenze I see 4 comments of ours: 1) "Test" - 2) "Test" - 3) "[One this it is..." - 4) "There is nothing inside..." Like tibetloga, it happens to me a lot, and it can happen to any comment to any video on any topic on any channel, for no apparent reason. But yes, certain wordings (not always obvious ones) can also trigger the delete algorithm.

The dog sledge patrols are important because they are actual human precedence. It makes it harder for anyone to challenge your claim to the territory. And can sometimes spot signs of activity at close range that can't be spotted from the air.

(Sled, I meant) ... And a question: What is the operational range of those Canadian drones? In direct flight path (over the ice) the distance between the two end points of the Sirius Patrol is 2,100 km, but the (completely uninhabited) coastline is much longer. The total stretch of coastline patrolled by the Sirius Patrol is 16,000 km.

@theglobalgambit Pyotr, I highly advise you to watch Anders Puck Nielsen's newly uploaded video on the topic. That'll answer a fair number of questions. Thank you for bringing up the topic.

Trump said that he wouldn't rule out using military force. When this is done with military personnel into foreign territory, the word for it is "invading."
