  2. Not just that I think but also a absence of hope. If you have hope that your future will be better, you're more likely to chase that and not be sidetracked. The issue I see here though is that it's easy now for powers to come in and give you a purpose, such as service to your community via the state, meaning communism.

  4. Our purpose as they want it to be, is to serve the state, or you could phrase it, the community, your neighbors and friends, but all via the state. Part of this is a identity crisis because the only acceptable identities are political, ie; serve the GDP. Another is the absence of hope for a better future. This is indeed orchestrated.
