He should make sure he gets that child support, put it in some kind of investment account and buy her a house when she graduates college, set her up for life. It's not about him or what he wants or feels, it's about his daughter and making sure she has the absolute best possible upbringing and chances at life because we all know the economy and ability to buy a home is not becoming easier. If he can use that money which is deserved in order to make sure his daughter can focus on family which is more important than the money, then that is a win.

I get more compliments from my boss at work than I do everyone else combined. But my son tells me he loves me all the time and pretends to like the haircut I gave him cause he doesn't want me to feel bad, right before he buried his face in my shoulder to cry about it 😂. Next time we go to the barber.

@RedYDG it's dangerous though, a while back I had a hell of a epiphany, to summarize, I was the same when I was young and my parents not seeing it didn't intervene when I felt pressured to be nice even though it wasn't what I wanted, my parents not stepping in droves a wedge between me and them that lasted until more recently, which ultimately led me down a path of bad decision making. I have to be very careful to make sure I don't put him in similar situations and teach him the tools he needs to deal with any hardship he may encounter from that such as speaking up for himself, so far he does very well at that and at 5 can have a full conversation quite grounded in reality. As of now I'm working on teaching him to be independent and disciplined and showing him how self discipline gets him good things and how hard work is opportunity not to steer away from, he's doing very good for his age, I'm excited to see the man he will grown to be, but I'm gonna enjoy the process and try to make it as enjoyable for him as well.

Hey man, I was doing the same thing when I was your age. I HIGHLY advise you to save, invest, but gold, in fact I'm gonna dare you to put $100.00 aside for a few things over the next month. 1: Gold, 2: a house, 3: some investment which could include a retirement fund if you don't already have one. Getting started is the hardest part but don't worry about it to much, just set that aside in a envelope, even if it's just $10.00. I promise you, time FLYS! Additionally I'm gonna challenge you to find at least one way to invest in yourself and increase your ability, be it going to school to get your helicopter pilots license or helicopter mechanic certs, or by finding all the benifits you can get out of the company you work for and getting every single cent out of it as you can to improve your standing. If you do these things, by the time you're 38yrs old you'll be doing ridiculously good! Don't try to figure it all out, just pick a direction and pull the trigger, figure it out as you go and don't forget to enjoy the process.

@dennishollerbach7729 At 23 I was doing the same, 100 was rare but I was doing a minimum of 70hrs per week, high 80s was the norm and I'd hit 90hrs at least once every three weeks. Basically I had no social life, was a manager who was seriously under staffed and had to keep picking up shifts, and worked multiple jobs at the same time. I could've come out of that far better than I did, but I did pretty good in my opinion.
