Beyond that, talking about being manly while bringing up appearances is ironic and I'm not sure if you realized that when you said it, or thought people wouldn't pick up on it. Why not bring up his taste in fashion while you're at it? That's masculine right?

Women are a bonus, but Alexander the Great, Atilla the Hun, Genghis Khan ect did what they did for glory, to build, to conquer, to make a great name either for themselves, or their posterity. A father absolutely takes care of and invests in his family, but even culturally in the west and historically Christian nations this is how you were supposed to live not for them, but for God. "Anyone who loves their father or mother, son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me." Matthew 10:37 The point of being benevolent is not primarily for the sake of those who are under your care, but as a responsibility to God and your relationship with Him.
