I've seen it with my cousin, she's a good looking girl and really a good lady, but because she's pretty people assume she's superficial even though she barely wears any makeup and dresses modestly. And while I'm not the best looking guy I've had this happen as well, mostly from older women but women in general. People have their assumptions and that's fine, if their assessment are so superficial I'm gonna assume the rest of their judgement is equally compromised.
