I remember a person who had their car stolen said that they went looking for their car and found it parked somewhere and notified police. Police told them to not touch the car and to wait for police to come but after many hours of waiting the car's owners gave up waiting for police and went home. They never saw their car again. Apparently a stolen car is not worth a police trip to pick it up but a few stolen bottles of liquor are worth a high speed chase going the wrong way on North America's busiest highways involving many police officers and vehicles. Some news reports said that 7 police cars were involved in the chase but one news report said that 20 police cars were involved in the chase with some police cars on both sides of the highway. Of course even the police cars on the right side of the highway risk public safety in a high speed chase. I wouldn't be surprised if the chase (which apparently lasted quite a while) cost more in gasoline and police car depreciation than the value of the stolen liquor or money. I wonder why only two police people are being investigated and not every single person involved in the chase. Don't expect the SIU to do much about it - police investigating police.

As usual when there is a postal strike or lockout we have the same people claiming that nobody uses the mail anymore while at the same time complaining that the shutdown of postal service has completely messed things up for them and for other people. Make up your mind. Which is it? Those things can't both be true. If you never use the mail anymore as you claim then why are you so upset about a disruption of mail service?

Why did he say that Jewish people wouldn't vote Liberal? That makes zero sense. For over 5 months the Liberal government has given unequivocal support to the racist colonialist brutally oppressive Zionist apartheid regime that has kept Palestinians locked in overcrowded, impoverished prison camps for decades and is now carrying out a barbaric genocidal military campaign against Palestinians. There obviously are some Jewish people such as the Holocaust survivor I met who condemn Israel for its treatment of Palestinians and so will not be voting for the Liberals but this reporter is naive if he thinks that every Jewish voter in Canada condemns the Israeli regime and thus condemns the support that the Canadian government has been giving to Israel.

So huge numbers of people continued to use Union Station for years while much of the station was being repaired and refurbished but when a section of roof at the Ontario Science Center needs to be repaired the Ontario government instantly shuts down the Science Center permanently and builds a construction site fence around the Science Center instead of just repairing the damaged roof and shutting down just that part of the Science Center. And this happens just when the provincial government is in hot water for unilaterally deciding to move the Science Center to Ontario Place without public consultation and without consulting stakeholders and without public support. And the Ford government has a history of creating policies to make wealthy business people wealthier without consulting with experts, stakeholders or the public. No wonder everyone is suspicious. I wonder what odds Vegas would give for the chances that within ten years that land will be owned by developers and will not all be used to create a community center and other services for the people in the neighborhood.

@cheryl4549 Your comments were reasonable until you said that you trust Doug Ford to make the right decision. Ford has made clear through his record that usually his main focus is to make wealthy business people wealthier and that he will push through policies without consulting the public, the experts or stakeholders to achieve that goal. Nobody other than well to business people asked for the green belt to be sold off, for ontario service centers to be moved to stores run by foreign companies, for a massive payout to be paid to the Beer Store, for a luxury spa to be put at Ontario Place, for much of the natural landscape at Ontario Place to be razed without an environmental assessment, for the Ontario Science Center to be moved from a location where two rapid transit lines will meet, for the Science Center to be poorly maintained and for the Science Center to be shut down and fenced off immediately because part of the roof might be unsafe.

Probably half the houses in Toronto are older than the Science Center but the Ford government claims that it is too old to keep it going. Something mighty suspicious about that. Look at how old buildings at U of T are. Lots of other old buildings. Old City Hall. Ontario Legislature. Lots of buildings much older than the Science Center.

Seems that the Zonist lobby is getting increasingly worried about more and more Canadians thinking that Zionist oppression, apartheid, war crimes and genocide which victimize Palestinians are horrible things. Imagine if in 1938 thousands of Nazi sympathizers marched through Toronto with police protection to express their support for a racist oppressive Nazi German regime that was carrying out genocidal actions against people it despised and saw as sub-human simply because of their race and religion. Very hard to see much difference between that and this march in supoort of the racist colonialist brutally oppressive apartheid Israeli regime that is currently committing genocide against people it sees as sub-human and expendable after many years of stealing the land of those people and oppressing those people. If you see other people as sub-human and just as obstructions to what you want then you can be indifferent to atrocities and even celebrate those atrocities. @Jay-md6fk Actually no. Nobody would criticize police for stopping a high speed chase when the suspect started driving the wrong way on the highway. Calling ahead to have the highway blocked at some point is fine but chasing the suspect on the wrong side of the highway is far too dangerous. Every police car going the wrong way posed a significant threat to public safety. And no doubt as long as the driver knows he is being pursued he's going to drive faster.
