It's been a full year since the first Russian shell fell on Bakhmut. So even if the rubble that used to be a small city has been captured at the cost of vast numbers of dead Russian soldiers and lost Russian tanks and with the expenditure of vast numbers of shells it is a disastrous operation for Russia. Bakhmut is 41 square kilometres. Ukraine is 603,700 square kilometers. So at that rate it will take Russia over 14 thousand years to capture all of Ukraine, something Putin thought he could do in a few days. That's a complete Russian disaster. And that doesn't even take into account that while Russia was effectively slaughtering its own troops struggling to take a tiny bit of territory in Bakhmut Ukraine was capturing vast swaths of territory in other areas. Then there's is the little problem that Russia can't afford to keep fighting this war for 14 thousand years. In fact if almost certainly can't afford to keep fighting this war for 14 more months.

@croftipsy no - not western propaganda. It's Wagner propaganda. It's Wagner that has been saying how horrible things are for them and is now claiming they are advancing.

It's almost amusing to see so many Russian trolls desperately trying to lie and deflect as much as possible thinking that people are going to believe their nonsense. Also almost amusing to hear them celebrating the possibility that after one year of effort at the cost of vast numbers of Russian lives and tanks and other equipment and with the waste of vast numbers of shells Russia might have captured 40 square kilometres of Ukraine around Bakhmut when Ukraine is over 600,000 square kilometres and when in the meantime Ukrainian forces captured huge swaths of territory far, far larger than Bakhmut. But it's not really amusing because it is extremely disturbing that so many people have so little morality and humanity and basic self respect that they are willing to sell their souls and spout propaganda in favour of an unprovoked genocidal invasion of a peaceful democratic country by a terrorist Russian regime just to earn a few rubles.

@jethroarnaiz2216 you seem very confused. Nobody expects Russia to give Sevastopol back because it is not Russia's to give. Sevastopol is a Ukrainian port that Russia had been renting but obviously given that Russia turned out to be the worst tenant in history that rental agreement is over and Russia will be kicked out of Sevastopol. Russia will need to find another port to rent.

@jethroarnaiz2216 Russian troll completely lacking any morality, credibility or self respect identified.

@PaIaeoCIive1684 Russian troll trying to deflect. As usual the attempt failed miserably.
