  1. This seems to be part of the strategy of Imperialist Russia. Attack other countries with as much brutality as possible to steal territory from those countries and cause residents of the territories attacked or occupied by Russian forces to leave to save their lives or to avoid Russian repression. An effective way to weaken and then take control of those countries if the world lets Russia get away with it. Russia did it in eastern Moldova, in northern Georgia, in Crimea, in Donbas and now in the rest of Ukraine as well. And if Russia succeeds in conquering Ukraine due to western indifference then next time it will be Poland or Finland or one of the Baltic states that will suffer this form of Russian genocidal Imperialism and some people or many people will flee those countries to get away from Russian imperialism. There's something very, very wrong with the leaders of the Russian dictatorship who control a country which is by far the largest country in the world but are never satisfied with the amount of territory they occupy and always feel the need to attack other countries to steal more territory to make their empire bigger. One has to assume that Russian leaders are very weak, insecure men who feel a desperate need to compensate for their great personal insecurities by aggressively expanding their empire. Truly strong, self confident leaders feel no need to launch unprovoked, genocidal invasions of neighbouring countries because they feel quite secure in who they are.
