Virtually all military spending is a waste of money and overpriced at that but large, aggressive, Imperialist dictatorships such as Russia and China give one no alternative but to spend significant amounts of money on the military to be prepared for potential Russian or Chinese aggression and hopefully deter such aggression. And for those who think that China just wants to trade and not to invade and steal territory from other countries ask the people of Tibet, Taiwan, India, Vietnam, Japan and the Philippines about that. They might disagree with you.

  2. ​ @Writeous0ne  It's nothing to do with NATO. In February 2022 Ukraine was not in NATO nor was it remotely close to joining. And here is news for you: when a large, heavily populated country is run by an Imperialist, terrorist dictatorship and keeps launching unprovoked imperialist invasions into nearby countries other countries in the region are naturally going to ask to join an alliance for protection from that brutal, terrorist, Imperialist state. The Russian dictatorship invaded Ukraine to try to deal with impending demographic collapse, to steal Ukrainisn resources and industrial production, over fears of Eastern Europeans turning away from Russia after Belarus had large protests and most importantly because Russia is led by a weak, insecure, paranoid man who simultaneously feels that he's not a macho enough man while he has delusions that he is Peter the Great so he keeps trying to attack other countries to try to prove to his people that he is a real "tough macho man" whatever that is.
