@paulmorphy6638 trouble with that though is that likely if voter suppression was eliminated we would find that Florida, Georgia, Texas and possibly South Carolina actually have more people who want to vote Democrat than people who want to vote Republican.

@TightwadTodd gun laws and restrictions work perfectly well to keep gun crime low in other wealthy countries. Are you claiming that Americans are an inferior species and thus naturally much more violent than people in other countries? I would think that a lot of Americans would object to that assessment.

@michaelleblanc5396 do you always struggle so hard to understand the obvious?

@johnhill7585 you mean the constitution that says that the people of a state as a whole have the right to have a well trained and organized state militia to protect the state and its people? Don't worry. Nobody is trying to get rid of that right as specified in the second amendment. As for the past let's go back 150 years to the old west where most towns had laws requiring that anybody who came into town in possession of a gun had to immediately hand over the gun to an authority figure such as the sheriff or to the owner of the town hotel.

@steveturner5519 actually a better way to look at it is that the most significant characteristic leading to someone committing a gun crime is living in the United States where lax gun laws ensure that it is easy for anybody to get a gun. People in Japan, Germany, France, Britain, etc are very unlikely to commit a gun crime because it's very hard for them to get a gun given the gun regulations in those countries and so it's very unlikely that they have a gun. Strange how so many Americans struggle to understand something so simple and obvious.

@thegoldenarm6422 so you don't mind if your neighbor has a cannon aimed at your house and machine guns, grenades and bazookas ready to use against you and your house to defend himself if you should do anything aggressive such as straying onto his property to catch your dog that slipped out of its leash or to retrieve an important document that blew out of your hands and onto your neighbor's lawn? Thing is I'm not American so I don't understand American gun nuts who value guns more than human lives so I'm just trying to understand if you really mean the words you said that are really ridiculous and horrific if taken to their logical conclusion. So do you really believe the nutty idea that all Americans including your neighbors should be allowed to have any weapons imaginable and to use those weapons any time they feel threatened by anybody for any reason or do you realize how insane such a belief would be?

@thegoldenarm6422 there's always one slow student still struggling to understand the basics while everyone else has moved far beyond them. Don't expect people to keep wasting their time explaining the basics to you over and over again.

@thegoldenarm6422 individual rights are rights to things such as food, shelter, education, health care and the right to vote, things which are sadly lacking in the United States. Carrying a gun into a university classroom or a PTA meaning or a grocery store or a city council meeting is obviously not a right because humans deserve to have more rights than guns do. And "genocidal dictator"????? Did you even realize you started spouting utter nonsense disconnected from the subject? Lol. Maybe next time you go off on a bizarre rant take a minute to look at your words before posting them to avoid publicly humiliating yourself again. Even better get someone else to look at your writing before posting it. Sadly your earlier posts are already out there so the damage to your reputation has already been done. You're just going to have to life with that now.
