Years ago I read that Scandinavian teenagers knew a lot about sex and had collectively few pregnancies whereas American teenagers knew little about sex and collectively had a huge number of pregnancies. Maybe one reason why pregnancies of American teens are down significantly is that now all American teens can go online to learn about sex even if their strict, religiously fundamentalist parents don't want them to know about sex.

Actually, I don't think that the first baby boomers were born until 1946. The normal definition is people born from 1946 onward because soldiers coming home in 1945 didn't have babies in 1945.

I actually thought that taking one's backpack to Europe was a 1920s and 1960s thing. Maybe a 1930s thing, especially for those people who went to fight in the Spanish Civil War.
