@Skibidiscones Because the Democratic party has already spent enough time with infighting over whether Biden should step down instead of talking about what is wrong with Trump and can't afford to take more time debating over who should replace Biden. It's unfortunate that it came to this but it seems the most pragmatic approach and it is normal in party conventions for candidates to drop out and turn their delegates over to another candidate as Biden has done for Harris even if it's not normal for the candidate with the most delegates to do that.

@Vs-ts3qv True. It's especially hard for a Vice-president to state their policies when running to be president. Harris would have a choice between saying that she would continue Biden's policies or change to new policies. Doing either one would cause her trouble. The voters don't want to hear nothing will change but contradicting her boss on policies would also cause her problems, both with her boss and with Republicans who would ask why she had supported Biden's policies for the past four years.
