  1. I feel sorry for the people who live in Point Roberts - at least for those who didn't vote for Trump. But I'm not impressed with any BC residents who have had a habit of regularly travelling to Point Roberts simply to get cheap gasoline and/or other products. If you don't want to pay Canadian taxes to cover the costs of roads and other government expenses then you should leave the country and move to the United States. No free riders please.

Spolier alert: Canada has gasoline stations and stores and parcel delivery locations and when you patronize these operations the taxes that you pay help to cover the cost of Canadian roads and other infrastructure and government services that you benefit from. Sure it may feel great to you to benefit from the taxes paid by other Canadians without paying the taxes yourself but it's not the right thing to do. Canada needs people willing to pay their fair share of taxes to cover public expenses - Canada doesn't need free riders who want all the benefits from public expenditure without paying their fair share of the taxes that support that public expenditure. Do better in future, trade war or no trade war.
