That reminds me of a comment by a progressive woman who grew up in a conservative, Evangelical Christian, Republican town somewhere in the southwest. She said that the town was very anti abortion but that once in a while one of the women from conservative Evangelical families would discreetly approach her and ask her if she knew how and where they might be able to obtain an abortion. They figured that she would know given her politics but they certainly didn't want other people in town to know that they were seeking an abortion. To be honest, I can't remember how many times she was asked but it shows that in intolerant small Republican towns there are always some people who privately have ideas on abortion that differ from the majority in the town.

@YellowjacketGTO You mean that the real insurrection attempt by a MAGA mob on January 6 didn't bother you because you're in the cult so you're indifferent to democracy, the country, rule of law and the constitution and you wish that the insurrection had succeeded.

I believe that in 2028 when the oldest Millenials will be 47 over half of eligible voters will be Millenials and people younger than Millenials. In 2032 when the oldest Millenials will be 51 years old that percentage will be getting up to 58% or so. In 2036 when the oldest Millenials will be 55 years old Millenials and those younger than them will make up about 62% of voters. In other words getting up near two thirds of voters. By then baby boomers and the silent generation won't be able to save Republicans from younger voters anymore. Millenials don't like Republicans and younger voters dislike Republicans even more. Florida might stay Republican for a while because old people keep retiring there but I would be surprised if Texas hasn't flipped by 2036. By 2036 Texas and Georgia and Pennsylvania and North Carolina are going to be blue and Republicans are going to be in serious trouble. And by then Texas will have almost as much power in the electoral college as California. Imagine Democrats being virtually guaranteed to win California, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, New York, Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota anong other smaller states. Republicans might try to pivot and claim that they never believed in that MAGA stuff but when they try to claim that don't believe them.

@YellowjacketGTO Make up your mind. A vote for a Republican politician is a vote against the rights of women. So is your wife voting Republican and for a Gilead type dictatorship or is she voting against Republicans because she values the rights of women?

Interesting thing is that if Harris wins then she will be about five years older than LBJ was when he became president and about the same age that LBJ was when he left politics partially due to being old. But Harris gives a youthful vibe that LBJ certainly never had as president. I don't think that in 1964 any college students said, "I'm voting for LBJ because he's young and hip".
