@johnkarls2132 the United States has made clear to Russia that Russia will face immense consequences if it uses a nuclear weapon. I don't know what those consequences would be accept I'm sure that they are not something Russia ever wants to deal with. Plus Russia is now severely weakened and has become a vassal state of China and as aggressive as it is I don't think that China would be pleased about Russia starting a nuclear war. Plus using a nuclear weapon would make Russia even more of a pariah. Plus some military experts have said that a nuclear weapon may not be that effective in terms of winning this war because Ukrainian troops are soread out over a vast area. Plus if Russia used a nuclear weapon around Crimea it could contaminate a significant part of Crimea which would not be good for Russia if it is still occupying Crimea. Plus without even taking Crimea back Ukraine will be able to destroy the Crimean bridge and cut off Crimea's water supply once they take back the rest of Ukraine which would leave Russian forces and civilians In Crimea with very limited supplies and very limited water. Russia dealt with the lack of supplies and lack of water in Crimea before but then they didn't have to deal with Ukraine regularly firing Himar missiles into Russian military positions in Crimea.
