@montecarlo1651 My impression is that Facebook wants to know everything about everyone but doesn't want anyone to know anything about Facebook.

I'm not so sure that YouTube is moderated well. When I report inappropriate content almost never does anything happen. And sometimes the inappropriate content clearly should have been noticed by the algorithm. For instance, earlier this year a TV news station had put on YouTube a news story about a fight that had occurred between people of different racial groups and included no context or explanation to help viewers understand why the fight had broken out. That in itself is irresponsible. In response to the video there were hundreds if not thousands of blatantly racist comments. Just an endless stream of racist comments. Any decent YouTube algorithm would have picked up on the inappropriateness of the comments and deleted all of them or at least many of them. To add to the problem, it was clear that the TV station was putting news content online without making any attempt to monitor comments. When I phoned the TV station all I got was a voice mail recorder and so had to just leave a message letting them know the situation and explaining to them that if they want to put news stories online then they need to monitor comments or not allow comments. Checking later I saw that they did nothing about the racist comments. And that is just one of countless examples. Anyone who has been on YouTube knows that bigoted comments and comments spouting medical or scientific misinformation and comments by trolls for Putin, Trump, Xi, Modi or Netanyahu are common.
