If by a year from now Ukraine has caused enough damage to put oil of operation every oil refinery in Western Russia and starts destroying oil and gas pipelines and energy plants and railway bridges in Russia is there a point at which even the Russian dictatorship realizes that the invasion was a stupid idea and agrees to pull all of its troops out ot Ukraine? Is there a point at which the Russian dictatorship realizes that almost all the military equipment it accumulated over 80 years has been destroyed or captured and that the invasion was a stupid idea? Is there a point when western nations finally start significantly increasing production of military equipment and supplies and the Russian dictatorship realizes that it simply cannot compete with the economic might of the west? Is there a point at which the Russian dictatorship realizes that the war is creating such huge demographic problems for Russia that the war will lead to the eventual weakening and even irrelevancy of Russia? I'm guessing that by 2100 Canada and the United States will have at least 530 million people between them whereas Russia might have 110 million people if it is lucky. How is a relatively impoverished country like Russia going to compete geopolitically with North America and it's European, Australian, etc allies even if Ukraine is a weakened state?

@FluffyFriendArchet If you imagine that Trump would have done more than Biden to help Ukraine then you're completely delusional. Trump praised Russian preparations for the invasion as being brilliant and Trump has encouraged Putin to launch more invasions against European countries. Trump has fascist tendencies and loves demagogues including his bromance partner Putin and would be happy if Putin wiped out democracy in Ukraine and in the rest of Eastern Europe.

Before this invasion it might have been possible that Ukraine would not join NATO. This invasion has basically guaranteed that at some point Ukraine will join NATO. And of course it also caused Sweden and Finland to join NATO. The invasion has caused exactly the opposite effect of what Putin had hoped (in many ways actually).
