Britain has made things significantly worse for itself with Brexit but this video greatly exaggerates how bad things are for Britain. According to Wikipedia Britain is 21st in the world for GDP per capita but about 8 of the countries ahead of it are tax havens or were blessed with vast amounts of oil so 13th spot in terms of productivity per capita is a more accurate number which is pretty good in a world with 200 or so countries. In GDP per capita Britain is slightly behind Germany and significantly ahead of France, far ahead of Japan, Italy and South Korea, close to double that of Spain, about double that of Portugal and well over twice the per capita GDP of Poland. And among large countries only the United States States States, Australia and Canada have a significantly higher GDP per capita than does Britain. So Brexit may have been a really stupid thing to do and no doubt Brexit is having a horrible impact on the British economy but no - Britain has not fallen far behind the large countries of western Europe and although Poland has done well since 1990 it is not the case that in 15 years the British people will be envious of the wealthy people of Poland. And in general aside from Poland and the Baltic states a lot of Eastern Europe is facing demographic collapse as young people leave poorer countries to move to wealthier countries in Western Europe.
