@Mitch93 You meant to say that it's not the only way that inflation is created but it's one of the ways inflation is created. When the United States put tariffs on washing machines before American manufacturers not only increased their washing machine prices as much as the tariff but also they used the situation as an excuse to raise the price of their dryers which are often sold wirh washing machines. Rising prices are called inflation.

Some countries didn't have a choice about it They had a fairly robust diverse economy not reliant on trade with the rest of the world and then European imperialists invaded and occupied the land and changed things so that most if the land was used for coffee or tea production for export and then when the European imperialists eventually left it was no simple task to change the land back to a diverse ecosystem and the economy back to become more self sufficient and less reliant on exports of one particular product.

Do you get more rubles the more ludicrous Russian claims you put in one one post and the more ludicrous those claims are? You probably should. If you're willing to embarrass yourself more they should give you more rubles.

@gary_beniford Your Russian definition of unreasonable Ukrainian demands is a Ukraine that is independent and sovereign with a strong military to defend itself if it is attacked by greedy imperialist Russia and with the sovereign right to make alliances with other countries that could help protect Ukraine if it was attacked by Russia. In other words the Russian dictatorship thought it was unacceptable that Ukraine might be guaranteed peace and freedom and to never suffer from a Russian invasion. You Russians have a very strange idea of unacceptable terms.

@gary_beniford Stop embarrassing yourself. It's quite sad and pitiful. Show some basic self respect and refuse to embarrass yourself anymore for a dictator who doesn't care a whit about you and will casually send you to the front line to be sacrificed if he thinks it suits his interests. Stop letting Putin use like this.

China has been building coal plants that can run on coal from China or other non-Russian sources, building power dams, building renewable energy infrastructure, signing a long term deal with Qatar for natural gas, signing a long term deal with Saudi Arabia, quickly transitioning to electric cars, quickly increasing its production of electric cars for export, exporting vast quantities of solar panels to other countries and experiencing an economic slowdown that has limited its need for more energy. None of these things are good for Russia. Putin can host all the Brics meetings he wants but ultimately the Chinese government cares only about China and doesn't care about Russia. Similarly, India's government cares only about India.
