In Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe was sure he was president for life with unlimited power until his military and senior Zimbabwe politicians told him, "No, you're not". On November 15, 2017 Zimbabwean military leaders said that it was not a coup and that Mugabe was safe. By November 19 (4 days later) he was removed as party leader and ordered to resign as president and by November 24 Mugabe was replaced as president by his former vice-president who has the nickname of "The Crocodile" and who is accused of being complicit in horrific violence. Putin almost had his own Mugabe overthrow moment. Just because coup plotters say, "This is not a coup" does not necessarily mean it's not a coup. Stay tuned for the next Russian coup attempt.

@JesterEric Not sure if it is true but I heard once that after 1939 or so Hitler never had his full cabinet togther because he was afraid that if they were all together instead of separated then they might start plotting against him.
