I would hope that in such a scenario western countries would seize as much as they can of Russian foreign reserves and give that to Ukraine. There is no doubt in my mind that Ukraine deserves that money. On the other hand in recent years both Ukraine and Russia have suffered massive demographic challenges as many young people in both countries have wanted to leave and with Ukraine devastated and the Russian economy likely to be stagnate for years with sanctions and Russian people blocked from travel I suspect that demographic decline in both countries will accelerate as more young people leave (on top of all the refugees who have already left Ukraine).
