One would think that Germans of all people would understand the danger of taking a policy of appeasement and isolationism when an Imperialist European dictator keeps invading country after country in an attempt to create a large European empire - that goes double for Germans from East Germany which suffered under occupation by Soviet troops controlled by Joseph Stalin. Just letting Putin keep taking territory from other countries in the naive hope that he will leave your country alone is as bad a policy as it was when Hitler was invading countries to expand his European empire.
