The uk can leave talks whenever it wishes. No one forces them, they stay at the negotiating table because they want to and because they need to. How are they going to pay the £400 billion loan that they are about to take if not by trading with other countries.

@drewhodge3820 there are other financial centers in europe beside uk, uk is 1 country, and there are almost 200 other countries in the world the eu can trade with. The don t really need to raise a lot of money because they already have that money.

@drewhodge3820 i think you haven t heard about Frankfurt and Main or Barcelona. They don t need to raise 1.8 trillion euros,1 trillion these are contributions from memeber states for the multi anual budget. The other 800 million are divided in grants 350 million or something like that and the other 450 are loans from other member states and loans the comission makes from the banks. They borrow much less than uk and eu is 27 sovereign nations.
